Monaco - Coffee table in MORTEX®

The Monaco is not a coffee table that happens to work outside. It is a MORTEX® pebble sculpture conceived from the very beginning for outdoor living, set directly on the ground, where shape and material need no further justification.

Born from a commission, grown into a signature piece

The Monaco was created for a client who gave it its name. That origin says it all: every piece here starts with a conversation. The smooth, continuous pebble silhouette dissolves the boundary between furniture and sculpture. No legs, no visible structure, just volume, material and the light playing across the surface.

The top and body are made entirely from MORTEX®, a mineral cement-based coating applied by hand by our craftspeople in our atelier in Steenokkerzeel, Belgium. That hand application, layer by layer, gives the Monaco its living grain, its depth of colour and the subtle irregularity that makes each piece its own. The texture can be pronounced or smooth depending on your preference: you decide the character of the surface.

Built to live outside, beautiful enough for inside

MORTEX® is not an interior material dressed up for the occasion. Properly treated and sealed, it withstands frost, rain and UV exposure without degrading or losing its presence. The Monaco is equally at home on a stone terrace as it is in a pared-back living room.

Often described as a concrete coffee table or microcement coffee table, the Monaco sits beyond those labels. It is a bespoke art piece, adaptable in dimensions and height, whether you need a low lounge surface, a garden side table or a sculptural element within a landscaped space.

Frequently asked questions

Does MORTEX® really hold up outdoors: frost, rain, UV?
Yes, provided the protective treatment is applied correctly, which we do as standard for every piece intended for outdoor use. MORTEX® is a dense mineral coating, sealed with hydrophobic and UV-resistant products specifically formulated for prolonged exposure. The Monaco was designed for outdoor living from day one: it handles freeze-thaw cycles, moisture, and direct sunlight without premature cracking or fading. A simple annual maintenance routine is all it takes to keep it in excellent condition over the years.
Can you place glasses or heavy objects on the surface without scratching it?
MORTEX® is a robust mineral surface, but like any natural material it is not indestructible. For everyday use, glasses, books, candles and decorative objects present no issue at all. For very heavy or sharp-edged items, we recommend using a felt pad or coaster. The surface texture you choose also plays a role: a more pronounced texture naturally absorbs micro-traces and integrates them into the character of the piece over time.
How do you maintain a MORTEX® coffee table left outside in all weathers?
Maintenance is straightforward and undemanding. Outdoors, a rinse with clean water and a soft brush handles routine cleaning. Once a year, or more frequently with intense exposure, we recommend applying a fresh coat of a suitable MORTEX®-compatible hydrophobic sealer. Avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners. For stubborn stains, diluted mild soap works well. Our atelier includes a full care guide with every piece delivered.
Can the Monaco be adapted in height for use as a side table or garden platform?
Absolutely. The Monaco is made to order in our Belgian atelier, which means dimensions and height are entirely adaptable to your project. The reference model is designed as a low floor-level surface, but we can adjust the volume to create a taller side table, a garden platform or a sculptural feature within a landscaped setting. Simply describe your space and intended use when you get in touch and we will take it from there.
Delivery and return

Our decorative items and other MORTEX® furniture are made to order, custom-made, and especially for you.

For our customers in France and elsewhere, if your region does not appear in our delivery options, we invite you to contact us directly so that we can offer you a tailor-made solution.

You will receive a unique item, made in our workshop. Our return policy and right of withdrawal differ from the standard policy for this reason.

The Monaco looks like no other coffee table, because it is not really one. Designed from the outset to live outside, this MORTEX® model takes the shape of a massive pebble resting directly on the ground: no leg, no visible structure, just the raw and soothing presence of a form hand-sculpted in our Belgian workshop in Steenokkerzeel. Its organic silhouette, all soft curves, evokes what nature achieves over centuries. Our craftsmen do it on demand, made to measure.

Do you deliver outside Belgium?

Yes, we deliver throughout Europe, including France, Luxembourg, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

More distant destinations such as the United States, Canada, or Dubai are also possible, without any particular difficulty. Simply contact us to arrange a customized delivery.

What are the manufacturing and delivery times?

Each table is handcrafted to order. Please allow an average of 4 to 6 weeks for production, followed by secure delivery within 5 business days via private carrier.

Can I return my order?

Our made-to-order models (dimensions, colors, personalized finishes) are neither exchangeable nor refundable.

Only models in stock, without customization, can be returned according to our conditions.

How do I maintain my table on a daily basis?

A simple soft cloth and a little warm water are all you need for daily maintenance. Our premium finishes effectively protect against everyday stains (wine, oil, coffee, etc.).

To preserve the original appearance over the long term, we recommend the use of placemats, trivets or suitable protections in the event of more intensive use (fondue, raclette, etc.).

Do you offer payment in installments?

Yes, depending on your country and the options offered by our service providers, payment options are available: deferred (30 days) or in several installments without fees via Alma, Klarna or Paypal, directly from your basket.
