How to Choose the Right Table Size?
Whether it's for a dining room, an open kitchen, or a more unusual space, choosing the right table size is essential to ensure comfort, aesthetics, and ease of movement. Here is a simple guide to help you make the right choice based on your needs.
1. The Number of People: Daily Use… and Occasions
- 2/4 people → 120 to 140 cm
- 4 people → 140 to 160 cm
- 6 people → 160 to 200 cm
- 8 people → 200 to 240 cm
- 10 people or more → 240 cm and above
💡 Tip: Allow 60 cm per person for comfortable seating, and a bit more if you use wide chairs or armchairs.
2. Consider the Space Around the Table
Ideally, keep at least 90 cm of clearance around the table to move comfortably, open drawers, or walk behind chairs.
Have a small space? A round table like our "Nia" or "Vera" can visually soften the space and improve flow.
3. Match the Shape to the Use and Space
- Rectangular tables: ideal for large spaces or big families.
- Round tables: encourage conversation, perfect for 4 to 6 people.
- Oval tables: an elegant middle ground, less bulky than a rectangle.
4. Standard Height or Custom?
At The Concrete Table Co, all our tables are 75 cm high (European standard). But upon request, we can adjust the height for optimal comfort.
5. What About Style?
Your table should also harmonize with your interior. Our Mortex models adapt to various styles, from contemporary minimalism to warm, raw aesthetics. Each piece is handcrafted in our Belgian workshop.
